I am a gamer and still proud of it. Connecticut’s Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy has stirred up lots of emotions dealing with being a gamer. The old debate about violence in games, specifically video games, is rearing its ugly head once more. An article in Library Journal states so well how I feel. http://reviews.libraryjournal.com/2013/03/media/gaming/games-and-violence-games-gamers-gaming-march-15-2013/ It points out that many people play games and are not violent. As a Librarian it’s our responsibility to connect our patrons to the media and information they need to maximize the quality of their life, and entertainment is part of that. Entertainment is a personal choice.
