Friday Oct. 18th was another Success. Students at Elmhurst College came to the
A. C. Buehler Library for another Gaming Extravaganza. Blue chips and retro games made for an interesting evening .
As you can see, the new year has started. The parking lot at Elmhurst College is filling up fast in the morning. At the A.C. Buehler Library the computers are frantically being used to check email, print handouts, and just browse the web.
The first day of spring has come and gone, but most people did not even notice it. What was noted was that it happened to be one of the coldest days of the week, here in Chicago. At the Elmhurst College Library, there were rumblings about the cold, but it was endured and life went on. Students at the desk are counting the days till they leave for warmer weather, carefree days, and work? Most of the students I talked to are either putting in extra time at work or volunteering for more experience. It seems like they have learned valuable lessons.
Once again it is time for gaming. The Library and GEEK got together to celebrate the good weather and the coming of spring break. Even thought winter was mild, people like sunshine and all it brings. On Friday the 9th of March, the students of Elmhurst College came together to organize, socialize, and game.
The Fishbowl or classroom was used for UnRealTournament2004 tournaments while the students brought monitors were used for other games.
Many people enjoyed dancing to the different songs available on Wii Lets Dance .
While others enjoyed the challenge of a good card game.
Along with the great turnout of people at the 4th Annual Spring Gaming Extravaganza at Elmhurst College, an expansion was introduced to an independent board game, Battle. Games not only entertain, but inspire. This college student has developed a fun and exciting board game which he hopes to market and produce. Gaming is a big part of the economy and lives of many people. This new edition can only help both.
